Just a few weeks after our snowy Canadian adventure, the Pumpkins and Fighting Irish hit the mountains of Puigcerdà for the annual tournament — and it did not disappoint.
The Irish had a strong start, showing flashes of brilliance and finishing 3rd in their group. With a bit more luck in front of the net, they could have made the bronze medal game — but in the end, they placed 5th overall out of 12 teams. Plenty to be proud of and loads to build on.
The Pumpkins, meanwhile, came out swinging after a shaky start. We dropped our first game to the Zockers, who eventually took gold — but from there, we went on a tear.
We finished 2nd in our group and absolutely dismantled the other group’s 2nd-place team 10-2 in the bronze medal final.
Could we have beaten the Zockers if we met them again? Honestly… we think so. First-game jitters got the best of us. Lesson learned.
But we leave Puigcerdà with medals around our necks and heads held high.
Now, we shift our focus to the next stop: Bordeaux — April 26–27, 2025 🍷🧀
And this time… we’re bringing three teams, including the debut of the Lame Dogs 🐕.
